Airmix Rules

General Rules

Applying to both Tunnel flight and Skydives

  • Teams select their own category
  • Teams consist of three flyers and no reserve or substitute members may be used
  • The same 5 rounds will be performed in the tunnel and in the air
  • Each round will consist of a four point sequence of randoms, blocks or a mix of both
  • The rounds are to be found here
  • There is no limit to the amount of practice jumps and flights the team may make
  • The final date for submission of all footage on DVD is 30th September 2008
  • All recordings should be submitted at one time and each round clearly marked and un-edited
  • No extra rounds should be on DVD apart from an out-take section which is permitted for the judges amusement and later self humiliation at the party
  • The same rounds apply to each entry category
  • Grips are defined by a proper hold on any area from the hand to the top of the arm gripper on the flyer's suit on the upper body and from the booty to the top of the leg gripper, any grips outside of these area’s will not be counted
  • Each flyer must show separation between each formation
  • Lack of separation will result in a loss of 1 point per formation not carried out correctly
  • As far as possible FAI rules for FS apply as a guideline
  • This is a fun competition and no protests will be accepted unless accompanied by three cases of beer
  • Fair rules prevail

Tunnel Rules

  • Each Airmix tunnel flight will last 2 minutes
  • The 3-way team forms a star on entering the tunnel then starts the dive sequence from that point
  • Once the star is broken, the team is judged on how many points they complete in the next 1 min 45 seconds (yes, it's all about the brain lock!)
  • A point will be awarded for each formation built within the scoring time
  • The initial star built is for tunnel entry purposes only and should NOT be incorporated it into the rest of the sequence
  • If at any point one of more of the flyers are deemed as being to unstable during the flight, they will be removed from the chamber by the tunnel staff, this will be for the safety of all concerned and the decision of the tunnel staff will be final
  • Refunds will not be given
  • If a flyer becomes unstable and the tunnel staff have to intervene extra time will not be given

Skydive Rules

  • Submitted rounds for judging must be completed out of Skydive Airkix aircraft which must be clearly shown on an unedited recording of each round
  • Dives are exactly the same as the 5 tunnel rounds but with a working time of 35 seconds
  • The clock starts as soon as the first team member leaves the aircraft
  • Practice all you like but submit only one un-edited recording of each jump as part of your team's submission
  • Team's must provide their own camera flyer
  • Fair rules prevail
